Rofl! Reading all those replies I find myself laughing so hard! Everyone's got some interesting stories! As for me, ever since my father died I did not have anything funny happening with my family in regards to Arashi!
He really liked them but refused to admit it! He called them φαράσι (farasi) which in Greek means dustpan and I used to be annoyed at first!
Me:"It's Arashi! Not farasi!"
Dad:"Yeah! Farasi! What did I say?"
But I got used to it eventually and found it funny! The last keepsake I have from him is his humming of A.RA.SHI. the last day I saw him alive! And that's why that song will always remind me of dad!

wow... I'm really sorry to hear about your dad, a2a... that's really sad. That was such a cute story, him humming A.RA.SHI.
;-; I hope you're okay.
("Yeah! Farasi! What did I say?" sounds like something my dad would say too. xD cute.)
When I showed my mom the calendar she thought they looked like a Japanese Beatles, lol. They... don't sound like it though. xD
When I was staying at my parents I was always playing Arashi whenever I was in my room... and my dad would walk in to talk to me, and then he would hear it and he would start dancing like you would to reggae with this stupid grin on his face. xD I told him to quit making fun of me and my geeky obsessions, and he said he wasn't, it just had this cool soul groove (yeah, he said 'cool' and 'soul'! I freaked out a bit internally but didn't say anything xD) and he couldn't help himself... he was making fun of me though. xD

Hahaha! Would agree with you... i usually hear that from my mom... but maybe she got used to it... and my little nephews... they are all arashic too... they are singing and dancing arashi songs eventhough they don't understand a word... and sometimes they pronounced it in a different way sounding a lot weirder...

can't really say much about my family... since i technically don't live with my mum n dad (i am studying abroad)... but my friends think i am crazy... my best friend loves their hair... i reconnected with a high school friend after losing touch for almost 4 years through our love for arashi... so basically the people around me love arashi - or more like, accepting my arashi fever and not trying to cure it... haha
i guess they cnt do anything about it. so they just let it be. but they watched tokyo park friends with me before.. hahaha.. my brother is a different case though. he doesnt say he likes them but whenever i watch their shows sometimes he would join me and laugh with me. He said their shows are so cute and funny.. Thats a diffrent case whn i watch non-arashi shows before.
ohh and one time when i was humming happiness song. and i asked him.. "do you know that song? do you know it ? do you know it. he said.. uh,,.. yeah.. happiness?" pwahaha.. i guess he has no choice but to listen to arashi songs.. XDDD

were Filipino... maybe thats why...
anyway... they cant stop me from hailing arashi... ahahaha
yah! we're the same!! and my mom always says "Oh! c Hana Yori Dango yan ah.. kumakanta pala yan?!!"
translation:("Hey! its the Hana Yori Dango guy! he really sings, ne??") and she's refering to Jun-kun.. LOL!!!
I can remember the day my PMR (kids' big time exam) ended. Me and my sister went and bought Yamada Tarou Monogatari. We finished watching it on that very day. My dad was in the living room and he kept turning around to see why I was sobbing..
Then, we watched it again with our cousins. My dad joined in. He actually sat down and asked, "What is this? A movie? How long?" And then he was watching, thoroughly enjoying himself. Could only watch first couple of episodes though...
My mom watched the final few episodes after a few hours of "what are you watching? let me watch my tvlah.. do you even understand what they are saying?" there were subtitles. So she watched anyway. Few months later, she was remarking to her friend that the series was quite good, had good morale values.
Then, my dad saw Nino on AAA. He thinks Sho-kun did a cool job in YTM. Then, he was like, "what? this guy? he must be a milionaire!" Both my parents were significantly surprised, especially my dad, when they saw Letters From Iwo Jima.
My younger cousin brother likes YTM. And well, he was into Mimura-kun at first and cried out "Anchan! Anchan!" when Nino appeared on AAA. Then, when we teased him about it, he moved onto Ohno. Hahahhahaha...... didn't expect him to be so open about it, good thing he's not anti-boyband. hahahhahahah..... not at his age. Aaah... my cousin brother and his love-swings with Sho-kun and Ohno.
Hahaha, I don't think my parents know about my Arashi obsession yet since I haven't been able to get my hands on any merchandise to decorate my room with yet. They'll probably just sigh and wish I'd grow up more.
My younger brother doesn't really like their music, but he's starting to be able to recognize when Arashi music is on since I listen to it so much. XDD He's also been watching their shows with me though.
I'm 24.. so I don't really talk to them about these kinds of stuff... haha.. but i joke around once in a while and tell my mom that when I go to Japan, I might come home with a wedding ring and a hubby as an excess baggage.. that's if Ohno or Nino.. or whoever from Arashi accepts my proposal. haha.
My mom has noticed though that I've been lounging in front of my computer for about n hours a day since I've known Arashi... and she's like "my, my... tsk tsk tsk..."...

my mom isnt really feel right about JE, including ARASHI.
eveytime i go to JE gathering in my country *jakarta-red.
she said "DO YO HAVE TO GO THERE? why?"
but as time goes by my mom changed her mind.
she even said that SHO is CUTE. haha.
*she dont know that sho is 8 years older than me* haha
I got a small chock today..
I was at our summerhouse and I was cleaning the roof on our house.. ((Plz don't ask why ^^))and I had my computer on with some nice music.. at that time I was playing "NEWS - Summer time".
Suddenly my dad shouted.. "Could you switch to Arashi instead.. they are much better!!!"
I was like Do you hear the difference!?
Of course he said.. so I changed to Arashi and my dad..and mum went.. This is MUCH better ^^
My dad even said that he wanted to watch some of their concerts ((Iza Now, AAA and TIME)) one day.. before I'm off to Korea...
Cool right!?
I mean he doesnt speak japanese or anything.. yet he can recognize their voices etc..and he even have some fave songs!! ^^
My mom don't really support me 1st. whenever any Arashi related drama released in DVD, i'll go and buy it. after watching for a couple of episodes with me ( 'Stand Up!!' that have Nino in it), she started giving me green lights and enjoy watching all their shows and concerts. sometimes she even ask me " why do i love hearing those guys sings? do you ever understand what they're saying? (that time there are no subtitles for it)". i said i don't care, as long as it's arashi then it's ok
