Hi kelvin_chan! and yay! we have an Aussie fanboy! don't worry, dude, i'm sure you're not the only guy out there who likes Arashi. There's one on vox, actually.
beepin328: fanmeets would be great, ne? there's nothing more exciting than meeting other fans; okok, i lie...meeting the boys in real life would beat it. XD
Kino is definitely the best place for Arashi stuff. They stock a lot of mags. And there's also the option to order stuff like calendars and photobooks. It's in the Galeries Victoria, near Town Hall Station.
my background isnt australian but ive been living here for about 14 years now .. hehe .. oh gosh i first saw kimi wa petto and i got curios on jun matsumoto and i ended up being jun bait for arashi hehe

Now, this is the reason I love forums
I'm in Melbourne, and this is seriously the first time I've come into contact with more than like, 1 arashi fan. YAYY!
Well, I was on an exchange in Japan last year for a few weeks, and my host sister and I listened to Oh Yeah! and Love so sweet on repeat for this 2 hour drive to Kyoto :P I loved the songs, but never really bothered to remember the singers. Then about a month ago I started watching HYD, and at first was like 'WTF? THIS MAIN GUY IS A TOTAL JERK WITH GOD AWFUL HAIR!'. But then I had the initiative to search Wish and lo and behold, discovered Arashi. It only took 2 clicks to find both Oh yeah and Love so sweet, and since then I've been completely and totally obsessed Thank god for the internet!

Hey *waves*
I'm from Sydney. Been an Arashi fan since August 2007.
How did you get to know Arashi?
I got into Jdramas and was googling on the net for a list of the best ones and HYD was like high up on the list. I thought MatsuJun was pretty cute. Googled him. Found out that he was in a band. Looked at a few PVs. Then one day I was in Chinatown and the Arashi Around Asia DVD was there. My friend bought it for me. I went home and watched and was hooked.
Which state/territory do you live in?
I'm from Sydney so NSW.
Are there any other JE groups that you know and which ones are your favs?
I know of the other groups but Arashi really is my favourite. They don't really compare.
I'm still amazed that there are actually Arashi fans that live in Australia! So far I haven't met anyone which is sad. I have my sister thought but I kinda got her hooked on them too ^_^ I found Arashi via Hana Yori Dango I suppose.. See I watched Hana Kimi which had Oguri Shin in it and I wanted to watch another Jdrama with him in it so I watched Gokusen and thought that Sawada Shin was cute but didn't really pay much attention. I read the manga of Hana Yori Dango ages ago and when I saw there was a Jdrama to it I was like OMG! No way.. So I watched it and because I knew how it ended I was paying heaps of attention to the main guy which was of course Jun! So I checked him out (sounds kinda bad) and it lead me to Arashi! So I was Jun-Baited hehe. Oh by the way I'm from Queensland and I'm non-asian (not trying to make a big deal I just read a previous post wondering whether most fans were Asians). Sorry about the long post.. Just happy to finally find other Aussie Arashi fans and wanted to share my story ^_^
well, its been a while since i posted here, but i'm glad that there are actually aussie fans of arashi
Jemdrop, i'm from QLD too *waves* I'm currently in brisbane, but i live in townsville. Which city are you in? I haven't met many arashi/JE fans though :(

Hey, it’s so exciting to see more Aussie Arashi fans here now~~~yay!
Except I don't think there's anyone else from Vic here still
Don't know whether this is going off topic, but I was wondering how old us Aussie fans are in general? Majority school/uni students? I always get the impression Arashi appeals mostly to females teens-> 20's
I'm a first year uni student, 18 this year. I was obsessed with arashi maybe since a year or two ago. I reckon arashi fans are pretty spread out in terms of their age. but yeah, i would think that a lot would be around school/uni age.

Well, I'm 16 in yr 11 this year
I've converted a few of my friends to Arashi, but as far as I know there isn't really that many fangirlsat my school...just, y'know, that sort of 'oh-yeah-they're-kind-of-cool' fan level Althought I too know some girls who are really into NewS and kat-tun~
It's hard to say which city i'm in.. When I used to live in Capalaba I said it was Brisbane but I moved and live on an island called Macleay which is off from it so yeah.. I hope that kinda answered it.. By the way i'm 16 and in year 11 *waves back at roxy* I haven't even bothered introducing my friends to Arashi.. If I did they'd probably look at me weirdly but I love Arashi anyway and I am so glad I found this forum so I can meet other people who do too!

Wow someone totally the same age as me!
The majority of my friends had the same response as your's would have too...that sort of awkward shifty eyes look But a few of them got into Arashi, which is YAY!
Lol yeah I know the look and congrats on converting some of your friends
I just have to squeal about everything I learn or see about Arashi to my sister which isn't as fun as it would be with one of my friends but it'll have to do. My friends listen to totally different music and I think i'd never hear the end of it if I told them I like japanese music so I just keep it to myself. I know barely any japanese which is sad cuz I like it so much I changed school in grade 10 and the school I changed to taught japanese but everyone else that does it started in grade 8 so I would never be able to catch up and gave up on the thought of learning it but my sister change in grade 8 and gets to learn

hahah no, I love the fact that there's other fans out there, and *relatively* near me
Well I'm pretty lucky because there's a whole group of girls which I'm semi-friends with in my year who are really into the j drama/music/anime manga sort of stuff. So if I ever need to talk about arashi to some other people, I've always got them
But yeah, my usual group of friends don't really venture into music in different languages, which is a shame To me, all music is the same, no matter the language
