Here to give you details of my junior high uniform:
white top, dark-blue skirt.
A pin with the school's coat of arms on the left collar of the white shirt.
Long white socks, and a uniform shoes. Yes, we even have to wear the SAME shoes in my school!!!

I had to wear the uniform because it's compulsory

Yes, it's very common, though now the style of the uniforms vary quite much. Even certain university use uniform now.

from where i'm from, most of the time school uniforms are require to wear in elementary and in junior high and high school, you are require to wear PE uniforms. if you go to a private school, most of the time you always have to wear school uniform. now, my school is not require to wear school uniforms, but it is in PE.

I'm not wearing uniform now but when I did wear them, for us girls it was a knee length green skirt with a stripped white and green top, and if it's winter, it would be a dark green knee length skirt with a white blouse and a tie and a blazer! It's just too much

-yes.. in kidergarten i was wearing a not so light blue navy-kind-a uniform with short sleeves w/ small dark blue ribbon... w/c was so cute...then
but now i was in my last year at highschool i was wearing the same color but it was now in long sleeves with necktie w/ 4 stripes in in (it means i was in 4th yr. highschool) well.. so glad that i was not going to wear that anymore! good bye highschool to me!!!

-well.. it was fine for me but our school uniform doesn't realy matches well. i mean the students there doesn't matches with mine. they'res are in very dark color(like i said our uniform should be in light blue.. our school color) some are.. well.. for the girlish, baby blue shade. it realty pisses me off cause it should be.. take not: UNIFORMED/UNIFORM!!..Oh and another thing: our p.e uniform was such a trash!! our jogging pants was green! i didn't get it.. our school color was blue then suddenly our p.e was green?? duh,,

-yup! it was. here in the philippines, we were it from kinder(or sometimes in nursery) until at the end of highschool. some universities here was wearing uniform.

Only in some private schools and highschools.. and I don't know any university in which you must wear it, so it's not very common ^^

5. In Italy uniforms are not common at all. Actually, I think I never heard of a school requiring uniform, even private ones. I went to a private school run by nuns all my school life long, but they never required it!!!

hm, in India it's very common, public and private school are required to wear uniforms. they are required until you graduate from high school. Some universities have uniforms...but not all!

but in US most public schools dont require a uniform and most private schools do...yea!
