I am very experienced computer user. However, I take absolutely no responsible if you manage to mess up your computer when trying to do what I've explained.

I will not answer questions about ripping copy-protected DVDs or CDs.
Don't ask where to get full versions of a non-freeware program - for free. They're illegal, and I won't tell even if I knew.
Rather than making me find you programs, search them yourself. You can ask program names though.

Screencaps usually tell much more than words!
If possible, post screencaps since it's easier for me to help you when I see what's going on.

I longer answer to tech help questions since it's tiring to repeat the same things over and over again. Also many questions are so simple they could be solved if a member bothered use google..

If your question is about video playback, x264, hardsubbing, 7-zip, Clubbox, soft subs vs hardsubs.. you can likely find the answer from FAQ or this thread.

This might seem a like a weird question, but I've tried DL-ing some of the videos here and they are in an application/octet file - thus I cannot open it, or I can open it but it only plays up to a few minutes.

Why is this so? Is it a BT file and I need to stream it or something?

This might be weird but i tried downloading Yamada Tarou Monogatari ep 4 with sub, and for some reason it won't play. It's saying its a torrent or something like that and thats where i'm suck. I can't get it off of a torrent please help me!!!!!

I've been trying to download an Arashi Utaban appereance using megaupload.
The file does get downloaded but then I try to play it in Windows Media Player this is what I get:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

any suggestions of what other program to use...or how to fix this??

^ You could try using BSplayer (only version 1.37) or VLC media player (it can play anything). Check that the size of the file you downloaded is correct, that way you know if you got it all. Check also that the file has the proper extension, like "avi" or "mpg" etc.

I downloaded an arashi video that has the extension .001 avi (does that sound right?). I can play it using VLC but I was wondering if I can install some sort of codec to WMP to play it there instead.

Well I have problems with avatars.

you know when you make avatars and you store it like JPEG or JPG and it gets a bit ugly or vague. So with PNG it stays the right way.

And much avatars that I found from other people were JPG/JPEG but with good quiality or PNG and even then I could use them.

but when I store them as PNG, I can't use them on the forum and so on.
It says there's a error. And if i upload it trough a URL it says that it has to be; JPEG/JPG, GIF or PNG, but the image already was PNG.

can somebody help me to fix this problem ?

hi. i got mma 78. but i can't seem to join the 2 parts from sendspace using hjsplit. hjsplit can't recognize the first part because it's not a 001 type document. the type of file, according to it, is GOM Media files(.avi). i think it's supposed to be a 001 document for hjsplit to recognize it and join it with the second part. can anybody help me with this? i really want to watch the whole thing. it's just so adorable. oh, and i can't download also from the other two links so sendspace is my only chance. please help. thanks.
