yeah it's a love triangle...dunno..if I watch it it may just be for sho. Give him some support! ^^ But if you see the manga, the girl's really small-sized..and it just..looked weird..like the two guys are fighting over a kid...who seemed to me way tooooo shy.. =/
^ I know. I'm just saying, because I dont even know a bit of information about this so i'm quite behind. And the youtube comment is geared toward that their deleting all the korean&japanese&chinese dramas so I wont be able to watch it when it comes out.
Sorry my previous comment caused misunderstanding.

really wanna see this! ^^
actually when i was in china for christmas they had like a segment on it...
at first i was like... ooh, tat guy's cute! and i was like he looks like sho...
moments later i see him speak japanese and his name pops up and i was just like OMG!!!
and then they had like interviews...i was like everyone else, shut up and let sho-chan talk ^^
The anime was so much better, in my opinion. Because the anime had a message through it, it meant so much more. The movie was just.... pretty random. It's like they made the movie for the sake of... nothing. They were trying really hard to convey the same message it did the anime, but I thought it failed miserably.
And I thought everyone had a time were they just went out of character. Especially Iseya Yuusuke, aka Morita. I thought he was a little too serious for his part. And Kase Ryo, aka Mayama... overall, he was good... but I think they made one wrong move: showing his Rika collection of stuff. I don't remember seeing that in the anime... so yeah, it made him look like he was a little OVER obsessive about Rika. Sho-kun was okay as Takemoto, but I thought it could have been better... however, I can't seem to pin-point what was wrong with him.
The girls did a good job though. For the most part, anyway. Megumi Seki, aka Yamada.. she was one of the two that I thought aced her character the best throughout the movie. The kind of sad character that is in love with Mayama. I liked her. As for Aoi Yuu, our heroine, Hagu. I thought she was REALLY good in the beginning of the movie but when I watched further... she started to get out of character as well. A little too happy, maybe? Hmm..
As I mentioned before, there were two people I thought that aced their character well... the second person was Sakai Masato, who acted as our heroine's guardian: Hanamoto Shuuji, or Shuu-chan. He did well as Hagu's support... even though the movie did not allow much elaboration on it, but he did his part.
What I thought was missing.... hmmm... I was really looking forward to see the bond between Hagu and her Shuu-chan that was shown in the anime. They did a good job putting Morita in place as Hagu's corner of comfort... but the Hagu and Shuuji bond was missing. A LOT. Just the fact that the movie decided not to let Hagu call her Shuuji "Shuu-chan" at least once already made that bond a huge failure... and with that, it kind of made the character of Hanamoto Shuuji in the movie kind of like some useless old man who loves parties. But in fact, he's so much more...
But then again, it's a movie... and there's only so much you can put in it.
However, I was quite impressed at how the movie managed to cut Takemoto's soul searching journey short and still made it make sense. And the triangle between Yamada-Mayama-Rika was handled pretty well in the movie (in the movie, we can argue it's a love square and add Shuuji into it).
***Spoiler End***
All in all, I didn't like it that much.. but it wasn't horrible, per se. It's possible that it's just because I watched the anime and I didn't like the movie that much.
And while I'm here... I really recommend the anime of Honey & Clover 1 & 2, especially to University/College students. I hear that when most people watch/rewatch the anime in post-secondary education, it is much more meaningful and you can relate yourself to the anime. ^^
I love art. I am and artist myself, love to paint and when I watched this movie Hagumi made me want to pursue my painting everyday. This movie inspired me a lot and I like how Sho's character is different than from he he portrays as a rap singer. I love it.
