Maybe when it's out in DVD? Anyways, I'm pretty sure it will turn out to be a great movie, especially if it's Jun acting in it.

thread??? About how to get there and the possibility to meet up.

'cause I wanna ask you all about the hotel reservation and meeting as well. Maybe it should be better if we all can manage booking in the same hotel or share the rooms, and manage the time and place to get there, and meet up, especially.....I WANNA MEET AIBAKALAND MEMBERS BADLY!!! hahahaha

So Let's keep talking for those stuffs in the USA thread!! (I can't start the post right now since I'm the last one who posted in that thread....LOL)

To be honest when I watched the trailer, I didn't know it was a jidai-geki and I thought it was a movie about the prehistoric era @___@...... Shocked! lol But no, that's a relief ^^

I remember Hiroshi Abe is playing in this movie too. He is a great actor, so I'm looking for it ;]!!!

I also wasn't sure if the LA premiere at USC was open to the public. So I sent a message to the email address provided, and got an answer today saying the event IS open to the public. i.e. Everyone is free to attend. Yay!

i went to check their coming soon website but it only went to may 8th. i wonder how long it will be until we get it.

Kurosawa is pretty iconic and his movies are absolutely classic in the samurai genre, so I'm curious as to how this movie will play out. Remakes ara always really difficult, you're either going to get something like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and wonder why things are there at all, or the Psycho remake with Viggo Mortenson that was word for word and shot for shot of the original. It can be hard to find that middle road, where you're paying homage and respect to the original, but being something new and a stand alone film as well.

The cast for this movie seems pretty strong, and if nothing else there'll be matsujun to enjoy, lol.

this seems like a really interesting movie and character for jun to play. i'd love to see it. perhaps after the movie's been subbed wink

I RSVP'ed but the event was overbooked. They turned down about 50-75 people, myself included. I did catch a glimpse of MatsuJun entering the building (to the screams of about 5 fangirls, uchiwa and all). Anyways, I picked up a pamphlet. Scans can be downloaded

That premiere was the best!! Jun spoke straight Engrish, no notes, when he was introduced before the start of the movie. And he was all happy! I think he was surprised at the turn out. The security was so too much though but I guess you can't blame them. We were ready to mob him. LOL He was so nice though. And hella cute.

Oh, and the movie for me was just ok. Others think it's great though. But Jun was pretty good in it. Totally believable as Takezo.
