Yup, I've watched it. The first episode was aired on Monday, 2nd October 2006. As usual, my Japanese is limited, so I won't be 100% spot on ne. ^^;; I wish I can make caps, all of them look so good! The set has more props in it and looked very genki.

How does it differ from G no Arashi?
1) They have another host with them. In this aspect, think Arashi no Wazaari.

2) They have a guest. There is one segment 'Homework from the guest' [Guesto kara no shukudai?] where the guest gave a question/topic for them to investigate.
~ In the first episode, I think it has something to do with the thickness of grilled meat. I think they chose 3 recommendations from the public and went to investigate. This time Nino and Jun went to meet the recommenders and go to the restaurants with a ruler and measured the thickness of the meat the restaurants served. Then they get to grill and eat the meat at the studio.
I think before they get to eat, Aiba suggested they do some sort of game. Come up with haiku or 'clever' sentences regarding the meat (think that G no Arashi episode where they have to make sentences/poems or something). Matsujun showed off his skills with grilling meat. Ha...ha...ha... He was in charge with checking the meat and all. ^^

~ I think they also did a question regarding the guest's image. They showed situational dramatisation with the guest and Arashi members' photos cut out heads of how they view the guest was like. (or something. Man, I wish I can cap! My explanation doesn't seem to make sense. Gomen!) Anyway, Arashi got on well with the guest. No awkwardness. ^^ (hmm... Sho might have met her before? Not sure...)

3) They have a live audience for the segment with the guest. About 3 rows.

4) Homework for Arashi? [Arashi e no shukudai]
~ Hmm... In this one, looks like an upgraded version of A no Arashi minus the labcoat. In this episode, it involved testing some grilled food on stick. Grilled rice? 3 versions of the food and they had to taste it. Aiba was the presentor this time. (Again, I think caps would do more justice to this than my words. ^^;;)

~ This segment was recorded separately and had no live audience. Different set.

Anyway, I really did enjoy it. ^^ The guys are genki and smiling all the time, so that part doesn't change. They seem to be enjoying this latest format. Somehow the addition of the live audience made them livelier, I think. There seem to be a certain buzz in the atmosphere. Hmm... Yes, I am looking forward to watching more of these. ^^ (and not just because Sho's hair is back to black or anything. Ha...ha...ha... He's hot!)

Oh yeah, the official website...

Yes, it is the show replacing G no Arashi (there were rumours of Q no Arashi, but I am guessing this was the preliminary title for Shukudaikun). It is still a NTV production and I think they're working with the same staff (cause there is this one laughter which is familiar... The director's? Ha...ha...ha... Or it could be my imagination! >_<)

Every Monday night 23:55 - 24:26 on air. (This is what's written on the homepage. Anyway, I think this is after News Zero.)

They have a BBS where people can leave comments:

(I wonder what the reviews are like)

You guys can explore the site. There's a 'Homework for Today' page (I guess the public can participate in this one. They gave questions and you guys can answer?), another one for the results from the previous episode I think (Revision page?) and a 'Staff' page (comments from the staff?). Oh, the 'About' page for an explanation of the show (translation, please, anyone? ^^).

Yeah, that's all I can say about it. Sorry I can't provide any captures from this episode. ^^;; Arashi no shukudaikun is a refreshing change from the no Arashi shows. Looking forward to more of these. ^__^ Oh yeah, they laughed a lot in this too. ^_____^

Right, have you guys seen it? What do you think? Like it?

The food Jun cooked looked so good.
But if someone watches it with little Japanese, it's pretty boring unlike G no Arashi. With GnoA you could pretty much guess what was going on. This one is like... not. <_<

I wish I was in the audience member :O
I wonder if they were all part of the Arashi Fan Club or it's only open to them or something..

and thank you for that explanation! :D
I figured as much but I wasn't sure so it's nice to see if my guesses were close to right XD

Yay, I was waiting for a thread to open.

Now I don't speak a word of japanese, so I can understand why alot of people don't like is as much as G no arashi, but it's nice to see a change in formats once in a while.

They seemed to work well with the new host and it was nice to see them converse with a guest. I was smiling the whole time because the guys looked really shy around the guest....just like a deer in the headlights.

Is it me or did Ohno look like he was pouting the whole time. He hardly looked interested in the show. Maybe he was jealous because the other guys were really into to lovely lady, and nor him. wink whistle

I think we also have to give the show some time to tweak it to become better... It's just the first episode afterall ne...

And I hope that there would be guests with more interesting personalities...

I agree with indayze, G no Arashi was definitely more fun, but I was reading some parts of this scan that tenshi_angels87 was so kind to post up:

and in Nino's section, he talks a little about the transition from G no arashi to Arashi no Shukudai-kun, and he says that their show is becoming more of an adult-like/adult-geared program and that the show's "taste" will probably change?

Personally, I didn't enjoy the show that much because with that sixth host and guest, it seems like it's a bit harder for the guys just lay back and have fun with each other. Even the bit with the pun game that they were doing while grilling felt a bit awkward... Though I do admit that they all looked reallllly cute and stylish, haha.
I really hope next week's is more fun! wish

the guest said she really likes meat and yakiniku, and so her "homework" for them was to find the yakiniku place with the thickest cuts of meat, and people were supposed to send in their suggestions. So nino and matsujun go off to test out some of the places. then they bring in the winning place's meat to eat during the show.

oh, one funny thing i thought was when they ask her about her guy preferences
nino: "if there were only the 6 of us guys in japan, who will you choose?"
her: "i will go to a foreign country!"
nino: "EHHHH??"
big grin

the little experiment aiba was doing was in response to one of the "homeworks" ppl sent in, asking them what are tasty ways to eat "kiritanpo," which is something made of glutinous rice. So aiba decides to add random things to the rice...like the first one he adds chocolate, i think the second one had grilled unagi (eel), and the blue one was "blue hawaii flavor" (and i have no idea what that is, haha)
hope that helps! smile

She's Iijima Naoko, and she's an actress/idol. Can you believe that she is almost 40 years old??

Arashi no shukudai kun... not very funny ~sigh~ but like rinkuro said, it's just the first episode. And I don't like the new host (Ogura!) In arashi no wazaari they had another host with them (kitaro) too but he was more cool than the new one. However the "kiritanpo experiment" did by Aiba was funny. It's like A no Arashi big grin
I would like to see more experiment, and sho's drawing, Aiba sugoroku...and much Arashi's laughing!

blue hawaii is a syrup for shaved ice so it's sweet. Not good for rice big grin

40!! OMG! She doesn't look it. I would have sworn she was in her late 20's. And hey, Arashi not good enough for her or something? Geez...Well maybe she doesn't like younger men?! Good...more for us! big grin

I was really disappointed by the new show.
I miss G no Arashi.

I will send e-mail to the TV station and complain.
We don't need Ogura-san and guests.
Arashi men are much funnier by themselves.

But I heard the second one was funnier and Rida was talking more clapping
