I thought this might be an interesting way of finding out what other members think of specific Arashi songs smile

Each week (or two), I'll pick a translated song on the forum and for each song, give your answers for the following:

I'll start ^^;

1) I first heard the song on a youtube clip (the G no Arashi performance), and actually thought the beginning was kind of annoying and overly simple rhythm-wise, but absolutely loved the part where there's only a guitar background and they sing in pairs big grin

2) it makes me think of that opening sequence of G no Arashi, and I get very nostalgic, but in a happy way, haha. whistle

The studio recorded version was a lot better I thought (and there's nino!).

3) Demo mirai no dokoka de kimi to
Warai aereba michi wa tsukurareru
(But, somewhere in the future with you,
We can laugh in agreement, we can make that path.)

-this makes me smile because for some reason it makes me think of the five guys skipping off into the sunset arm-and-arm in a kitto daijoubu-ish way...

4) wouldn't change anything, i actually really like the lyrics of the whole song, so uplifting big grin

yay for arashi writing their own lyrics

5) had a dream where this song was playing in the background...and i was shopping in asakusa... (ok, definitely from watching way too much g no arashi)

1) What was your first impression of the song?
The perf. Even though Nino wasn't performing it in GnA I think the rest of the members were full of energy and thus the perf was cool. Jun especially was great!

2) What's your current impression of the song?
After I read the translation I started to like the song even more smile

3) What is your favorite line (or lines)?
Kurabeta jitende maketeru
Jibun ni makenai tsuyosaga
Donna kabe wo mo kowashiteku

4) What line (or lines) do you not like/would change?
I'd like to change the very last sentence: [Ganbare] Hora ne niatte riyuu yo. That is, after I read the translation.

5) A random experience you've had with the song and/or anything else you wanna tell.
It was nice to hear the version with Nino. It actually sounds a way different when he's singing too.

Fight song???

1) What was your first impression of the song? (i.e. beat, lyrics, live dance, etc.)
I knew this song from you-tube...and I knew that nino was the one who wrote it...but the beat and the tempo was quite weird for me...and I was upset that nino wasn't there singing with the rest in that clip!

2) What's your current impression of the song?
It cheers me up a lot! I love this song!! Getting loving more with the lyrics...

3) What is your favorite line (or lines)?
Donna ikutsumo no kotoba yori mo
Tatta hitotsu no kotoba ga ii.....But I always remember this part as "Donna Ikutsu mo yume wo tsutsuguyou..." LOL!!!

This song's stuck in my head....my brain keeps playing this song!!

By the way, thanks reichan2 for translating!(Though the fight song isn't your piece, but I'm gonna say it here) I love your translation, it's smooth and meaningful than any other place's lyrics I've seen! clapping

hm... the first time i heard it was on youtube...
i was browsing through performances cuz i was new Arashi fan (still am~ blush

)
and they were doing that air guitar special thing...
and they performed without Nino cuz he was in LA~
when i first heard the beat... it got SO~ addicting!!

2) What's your current impression of the song?
i finally heard the version that has Nino and i love it even more...
and it's still as addicting as it was before~

3) What is your favorite line (or lines)?
Ima wa nayamu koto mo arudeshou
Heko mu koto datte arudeshou
i love these lines~
not just the lines... but the way they sang it too...
i also liked how Captain sang that part (like in the intro for G no Arashi)

4) What line (or lines) do you not like/would change?
i wouldn't change anything~

just the fact that it's SO~ addicting
it also gets into my heard like crazy!!
but it's such a great motivation...
i just got on vacation... school won't start in another 1 or 2 months...

Like everyone else, i watch it first from YT...read some comments before watching it, guessed i'm ALREADY impressed before i hear it myself, LOL...and after i did, i do AGREE with them, the song is GREAT! It suits the program perfectly ^^

2) What's your current impression of the song?
Still watching it to lift up the mood for the day wink

3) What is your favorite line (or lines)?
...Ima wa nayamu koto mo arudeshou
Heko mu koto datte arudeshou...
Luv the meanings...and luv how the slow parts go thru btween the lively chorus big grin

i notice i easily get fond of japanese songs mostly because of the lyrics,even when i don't understand a thing,haha

When i babysit my niece, i luv to sing/hum my fav songs to her...
One day, she's been crying the whole morning bcause she's so upset of something i can't recall... I've tried ALL songs i knew, but she wont stop anyway, and i'm getting so tired then...
Suddenly, somehow, a song appeared in my mind, and i hummed it to her, along with my "weird" dance i hummed it because i don't know the lyrics,haha,baka me!
Then, miracles happen!! With her teary eyes, she hummed the song along with me, the FIGHT SONG!!
Alas! She finally STOPs crying, YOKATTA~~ Wohoo!

It has been our fav song since then, the end ^o^

same here with being upset that nino wasn't performing with them! i didn't know arashi that well back then and i got really confused as to why nino was on the screen (actually, it made me think of when they went to NY without him too....) i was thinking, "omg, did they ditch him again??" hahaha, oh it's good to know better now :P

i really love translating arashi stuff! don't really know what songs people want translated tho, so i end up picking the ones i like first whistle

Ah, it's the song for GnoArashi right? When i first hear it, it seems weird for me? But when i read the lyric, i find it so meaningful yea? Im impressed that Nino can write such a nice song. *thumb up*

Hearing the song now seems to motivate me more. Bcuz of the lyric yea~~

Like what i always says: Im yourself, im happy with myself bla bla bla. It's can be quite a encouraging sentence if you never mistaken it! (^.^ )

1) What was your first impression of the song? (i.e. beat, lyrics, live dance, etc.) First heard it on the G no Arashi opening. Thought it was cool and downloaded the whole song and love it when they all sing together :D
2) What's your current impression of the song? It's really uplifting! It can put you in a really "fighting" mood - all hyper and stuff.
3) What is your favorite line (or lines)? "Yowai toko misete mo daijoubu" because Jun's daijoubu makes me smile for some reason lol
4) What line (or lines) do you not like/would change? None cause I'm not clever enough.
5) A random experience you've had with the song and/or anything else you wanna tell. Everytime I play it in my car, I rewind to Jun's part a couple times cause it sounds awesome. XD

I heard the melody for the first time on Nino's radio show Bay Storm (since it used to the intro, instead of himitsu), and thinking, "omg, what is this?? this is so catchy!"
Though I thought they were saying, "i feel like jumpin out" over and over again, so it was a bit confusing...

2) What's your current impression of the song?
Still LOVE this song. The beat is so catchy and the word plays are fun. The sounds really flow well, and their voices all sound great (esp. ohno!)

3) What is your favorite line (or lines)?
Muchitsujo to chitsujo surinukeru sono
Ayausa to shitataka sa
Ano kado wo magareba KISU mo dekiru

(i like the rhyming and how they sing it)

4) What line (or lines) do you not like/would change?
"Yubiwa asobi wa mou yame ni shite wa
Kubi shimeru dake darou ga"

it works in the context of the song, but the image is kinda terrifying if taken literally... (constricting someone's neck??)

5) A random experience you've had with the song and/or anything else you wanna tell.
Translating this song was really fun because of all the word plays and rhyming. It's esp. interesting in these lines because of all the "wa" sounds and circular imagery.:

"Ikura nagetemo hazusu wanage GEEMU
Kimi wa towa wa no soto da "

the "towa" kanji is usually read as "eien." (ok, i'm a word-geek...) The lines where they play around with the "ima" sound is really fun to sing too. It's been fun getting my friends addicted to this song too whistle

Didn't really like it.. It's just too.. hmm.. sounds the same all the time.

I can listen to it, but really not one of my faves. But seeing the perf in Iza Now DVD made me like it a bit. Or maybe it was just the perf LOL

1) What was your first impression of the song? (i.e. beat, lyrics, live dance, etc.) The beats were simple yet nice. It had a jazzy feel to it. And the dance is nice to watch. I disliked it at first because I didn't really like the 'jammin' parts.
2) What's your current impression of the song? My thoughts on the beats, jazzy feeling, and dance are still the same. But, I got used to the 'jammin' parts. Now that there are translations I find the song interesting as in lyrics wise. Can't explain it, but it's good.

1) What was your first impression of the song?
Saw his performance on youtube many months ago... (okay, as an arashi fan, that's like a lifetime), but I thought the beat was really catchy and different from their other songs (was it a harpsichord in the beginning??). and kept thinking, "wow, this guy can DANCE"
ohno's always so cute, but when he performs he has a crazy intense/sexy look on his face WTH

2) What's your current impression of the song?
still think it's really catchy, and still think it's ohno's best solo (not a fan of Rain...)

3) What is your favorite line (or lines)?
actually...nothing really stuck out for me (maybe cuz when i hear the harpsichord start...i just start thinking of ohno dancing, haha)

The first time I saw the video all I thought was "Must stop drooling, Must close mouth" Ohno's hips are just too much to take when your caught off guard.

I still think the same thing but now I've actually listened to the song instead of just drooling over Captain and I really like it. It's got a really catchy beat.

I agree with Haru and Reichan2 it just shows Captains voice off the best out of the song.

I agree again with Haru and Reichan2 just make it cute engrish like Aiba and it'd be great.

I was playing it at work and everyone was staring at me blush
