Hi to all Australian Arashi fans out there.

I don't know how many of you's are out there, coz i'm yet to personally meet one person who actually knows Arashi in this country - let alone someone who is a huge fan like i am. innocent Pretty sad
Thats probably because where I live isn't a 'big' capital city.

Well, in this topic, i can only think of 3 things to ask (for now)

- How did you get to know Arashi?
-Which state/territory do you live in? (dont need to answer this)
-Are there any other JE groups that you know and which ones are your favs?

But if you're not from Australia, you can still comment here. I'd love to know how popular Arashi is in other countries. I suspect they'd be heaps popular in the Asian countries...certainly more than here anywayz, hee hee

As for me:
-I went on a school trip to Japan and there knew a bit of Johnny's (then Arashi) and i looked up some Arashi stuff on the internet. So now i'm a huge fan
-I live in Queensland
-I used to love KAT-TUN, NEWS and Kanjani 8, but now Arashi's dominating my life and they're just 'alrightish' to me.

Hello~!

I'm not exactly Australian, but I have been living here for more than 4 years and coming to my fifth year~! Like you, I haven't heard much about Arashi here, nor any of the other JE bands. cry Lol, but i guess I'm not from a 'big' capital city either whistle (FYI I'm in Adelaide)

As to where I got to know Arashi.. it's from MatsuJun's drama Gokusen~! Still one of my fave dramas~! drooling From that drama I (indirectly) got to know other Japanese groups too~! I'm also into Kattun, NEWS Kanjani8 and WAT. I'm going broke just buying their stuff over the internet, since I can't find any here ~sigh~

Anywayz, it's great to meet another Arashi fan in Aussie ~!

krys0611!!!

Okay you don't know me, but I just got all excited coz there's another Arashi fan in Adelaide! Yay! I thought I must have been the only one~ Ah~ So happy!

Anyways, you might have gathered that I'm from Adelaide wink

I'm not sure if people would consider me Aussie if they saw me, coz I'm of Asian origin, but I definitely consider myself Aussie. I've lived here for most of my life and damn proud of it! (if you'll excuse the slight profanity)

I first heard about Arashi when I listened to Sakura Sake and Paletto that I downloaded from a rotation site. I loved them, but didn't look any further into it. Then I watched HanaDan coz I love the manga and found out that Jun and the theme song where by Arashi, so at that point I found myself needed to find out everything about Arashi. As they say, the rest is history~!

As for other JE groups, I know most of the other groups, but I only love Arashi. I'm not really a fan of any of the others coz they just don't have the same charm that Arashi does as far as I'm concerned, though I've really liked Tegomass' songs so far. But yeah, I'm an Arashi fan for the most part.

Whoopie~! Another person in Adelaide~! Nice to meet you~! Wohoo!
I'm all excited to meet another person in Adelaide who's into Arashi~! Well, technically I'm not Aussie either, lol, since I've only been here for 5 years, but I don't see myself going back so one day I'll eventually become Aussie.

Don't you find it difficult to get anything related to Arashi here?? I wish there were more shops that sells Japanese goods here in Australia, let alone Adelaide.. Thank goodness for online shopping~! clapping

It was good meeting you~! Heart

^

Well, I've been a citizen since I was 7 and I don't really remember living overseas, so I know nothing else and I always identify myself as Aussie when asked, but people still assume I'm an international student or something Eh?

Ahhhh~ I know the pain of buying Arashi stuff~ Seriously, I'm always getting into trouble about spending too much on them. And it's usually the shipping that kills me.

Actually, it's not just Arashi goods, but everything. I read a lot of manga and watch a lot of anime as well and buying all the stuff that I want really kills me! I know there's Borders and a few other speality shops, but they're so expensive and are really aimed at boys, with loads of figures and modles. I've spent so much this year already on manga/anime/Arashi. cry so poor~ But I can't stop myself from shopping online drooling

Omg, there's actually people who live in Australia and love Arashi WTH
except no one's from my town, let alone my state confused

I was born in Australia so i am an aussie citizen, but i am of asian origin. sometimes if i walk by myself in town, some people ask me if i'm an exchange student, but when i say that i live here and they hear that i have no accent, they know i'm a local. >_<
but i think its quite funny.

and im heaps into a lot of japanese stuff. arashi's dominating my laptop. the last time i went to japan i got some manga and it was in japanese and english, which i thought was awesome.

oh, and since arashi isn't the biggest band in australia, have you ever showed arashi to your friends/family? wat did they think of it?
my friends thought an arashi song sounded like the pokemon theme song, and i was like WTH
they like kat-tun better for some reason....

newayz, nice knowing there are arashi fans in the land down under

^ haha, I feel the same when I find other people from Australia. Coz Japanese culture and media aren't big at all here. The only people I know who are into japanese stuff and aren't international students, are boys. But that's coz they're into anime. I don't know many people who actively listen to japanese music.

As for what my family and friends think of Arashi, well, they're used to me being strange.
My friends take as [ah, she's into/obesessing over something weird again...] and just listen to me ramble. I think they find it amusing that I get all excited like that.
My family, well, they just let me be. Though I know they think I'm a bit of an idiot spending so much energy on them. My brother hates it when I talk about Arashi, but I talk so much that he knows all of their names and what they look like~! It's a pity though, coz I know he doesn't mind Arashi's songs, but I discovered them when he was in a [anything she likes, I hate] phase, so he's stuck on hating Arashi.

You know, recently I've been thinking about the makeup of arashi fans. I know there are a lot of us NOT from Asian countries, like those from europe, the us etc. But even then, would most of us be of asian descent? Somehow I think so. Not everyone obviously, but I think a large majority would be, like myself. What do you guys think?

LoL~! I'm the same too~! Before I got into dramas and stuff, I was totally into manga and anime too. But now, there's too many dramas to watch and I hardly ever have time for them. So, now I don't even have time for animes and manga cry I used to go to Borders for manga, they've got some good ones (although pricey). But like you, I spend heaps on Arashi stuff and also other groups' stuff online~! What's worse, it's really hard to find too~! (Esp concert goods and magazines).

Oh, I'm into japanese stuff too~! I've been cooking lots of Japanese dishes and stuff and my comp's full of japanese things~! Since I'm learning Japanese here, I've got Japanese learning books here and there around the house. innocent But my friends don't know arashi.. and neither do my parents~! But since my parents do accompany me watching drama sometimes, I would tell them which group a certain actor is from esp. when they say their acting is good~! (Hint hint: Nino~!) Oh, and the CxDxG no arashi DVD i bought, they thought it was hilarous~! clapping Unfortunately, none of my friends here really listen to Japnese music, unless it's from the opening or ending of some drama they've watched. As for me, although I LOVE arashi heaps, I do listen to other groups as well, e.g. WaT, UVERworld and lots of JE groups. In fact, I quite like kat-tun and news too, and lately Kanjani8 as well. Though Arashi has been my first love in love

I've noticed that too, lately~! Most of them have either moved when they were young, or an asian migrated there and born there. But then again, it makes no difference~! Just as long they spread the arashi love Heart

I reckon there'll be quite a few... my dad's from Finland and my mum's Chinese but overall i look fully asian. But really, i have no idea.
i reckon its really fun watching and listening to arashi coz i'm studying japanese and arashi is like a super booster. >_< but this girl that i know who went to japan for an entire year (so luckky!) doesn't really like anything jpop and she's not of asian descent. :( so i can't talk to her about arashi.

on the weekend i'll be hosting a girl from japan for 2 wks. Hopefully we can talk HEAPS about arashi, coz it's something i cant talk with anyone about ~sigh~ and then mayb later we'll talk about other jap singers i love after arashi.

Hi Nadia!

Hmmm, I'm not sure if any of the others here are from Sydney, but I know there are a fair number from there. Have you checked out the Australian fanclub? Yygall from there is in Sydney I'm pretty sure. Other than that, I don't know, I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere ^^;

Hi. Got into Arashi after watching Nino in Stand UP!

Born, and living in Sydney, I consider myself Australian even though I'm Asian.

Arashi is my only jpop love~ aside from random anime songs!
