i'm working already. good thing the place i work in does not require uniforms, unlike other companies. unfortunately, i don't have any pics on how my uniforms look like....i went to 3 different schools and all have different uniforms. all of which had a skirt and blouse trend, nothing fancy.

i guess that's why it was called "uniform"...so everybody had to be confirming to the school's standard of being "the same" haha

yes, it is very common. they wear it even until college. like what i have mentioned earlier, even some companies in the corporate world have it.

I am, still. Its a normal 'baju kurung' cloth. its like a long sleeve clothing (except longer on the height) plus the sarong.

Its the tradition (a must). I just hate the ones with the tie (which we hv to wear every mondays or formal days) as the weather is hot.

Yeah, im okay with it. though i very much prefer the pinafore (but ppl will look at us in a bad way as muslims are not suppose to wear pinafores) but i didn't see it in the school rules guide. still, im a prefect and prefects uniform doens't have pinafores.

5) I live in the US and school uniforms are all up the individual schools. Some require it and some don't. The public schools thought about requiring uniforms but they gave up on the idea when alot of students and parents started complaining about the cost of the uniforms (uniforms aren't cheap) and freedom of expression

Now i'm not wearing uniform anymore...because i'm not in school. I've not wearing for many years already. I've got pictures with uniform, but i couldn't show it since it's not in my laptop right now. Since i've got into college, i've been missing my old uniform so much.

It's compulsory for all of us in our country to wear uniform. But it depends on types of school. Students who learn in Private school doesn't need uniform, but not students in public school.

I think i like it. For me uniform is a good thing. From my opinion, when we make uniform as compulsory to our study, it makes the students look neat and smart, synchronize, and also different when we compare it with other students from other school. Plus, when wearing uniform, everyone is same. Nobody looks like rich boy or rich girl, and nobody looks like poor boys and poor girls. This will avoid any status biases in the school.

Uniforms are pretty much mandatory for all schools all the way from elementary to high school.

My school was a private one and while I attended I used three different uniforms- not counting PE. We started out with a white dress shirt (kind of- I'm not sure that's how you call it in English) and a light-blue and white finely striped skirt. Then, when I was in 5th grade the school decided to change the school uniform and we ended up looking like smurfs. They changed the dress shirt for a light-blue polo shirt with the school's shield. The uniform was for elementary students, high school students got to choose between a white or dark blue polo shirt every day. The skirt remained the same throughout. I believe I liked the high-school uniform with the dark-blue polo shirt.

When we have a 'convivencia' (the school's attempt to instill morals and values and tighter bonds) the dress code is different- we wear the school polo and jeans. Again in blue, only girl with glasses...

Finally, it's tradition that when the 12th grade class graduates we rip our uniforms and graffiti them. Who are we to go against tradition- we also hired a 'chiva'- a party bus that gives tours... kinda. Again in blue, with glasses... and screaming...?

Uniforms are common among those in Catholic and private schools. I'm pretty sure universities don't have to wear uniforms. At least the ones in my province don't have to.

~i think it's good because it lessens the fact that i have to repeat clothes but it's bad because it restrains my freedom of expression.

~yes, it is. it shows the school emblem. usually, college students here don't wear uniform, except when they specialize in one course like med course, cooking, etc.

*scratches head* I think I wore uniform ever since pre-school (nursery school). They were these pinafores that were white with a orange/yellow trimming. In kindergarten and 1st & 2nd grade, I went to another school in Hong Kong. We had summer and winter uniforms. I liked the winter uniform - it was this tartan design with navy blue background and red & gray stripes. When I moved to California I wore uniform through high school. It was mostly maroon in color, until senior year when it changed to navy. We had to wear navy blazers.

Some private (privately funded) schools in America have uniform dress codes. Some don't. I don't think any public (government-funded) schools require students to wear uniforms.

I think wearing a uniform is a double-edged sword. On one hand, you don't have much fashion freedom, but at the same time, you don't have to think about what to wear every day!

in kindergarden we wear orange white dress.. i don't have this picture..
and when we when to primary it's blue black skirts or pants and white clothes..
when in primary the clothes stays white but the skirts and pants turned blue light..
and 'tudung' is also white..
but usually the prefect wears different colour like green or blue..
